Navigation

How to find your way around SixGrid.

SixGrid has two levels of navigation:

System Sidebar

The sidebar is always visible on the left side of the screen. It's arranged in a few zones, top to bottom.

Top: Your Work

  • Dashboard — Your landing page: your to-dos, milestones, and projects, with the organization rollup your role covers below
  • Projects — The projects your role lets you see (this link used to be called "All Projects")
  • Project Ideas — The organization's idea list. This link only appears when your organization has the Idea Hopper turned on

The Organization Zone

A labelled group of links for looking across the organization:

  • Program — The program view (managers and above)
  • Reports — Breakdowns and financials for the projects you can see
  • People — Everyone in your organization (this link used to be called "All People")
  • Groups — The groups that organize your projects and people

Below the Organization zone sits + New project, which starts a new project with the guided wizard.

Bottom: Utilities

  • Notifications — Your in-app notifications
  • Trash — Deleted items with 30-day restore
  • Settings — Organization branding, billing, and subscription management (owners and admins)
  • Help — This documentation

One rule ties the sidebar together: what you see follows your role. When a section isn't there for you, that's by design, not a glitch.

On mobile devices, the sidebar is hidden behind a hamburger menu button in the top-left corner. Tap it to open, and tap anywhere outside to close.

At the bottom of the sidebar, below the tagline, you'll find links to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy on the SixGrid website. These open in a new tab.

Project Tabs

When you're inside a project, you'll see a horizontal tab bar across the top with these tabs:

TabWhat it shows
CharterThe project charter, metrics, and notes
FinancialsBenefits, costs, and net financial impact
To-dosActionable items and milestone tracking
PeopleTeam members and their project roles
FilesAll project files in one place, plus upload general project files
ReportFinal Report narrative and PDF generation
SettingsProject name, dates, status, group, activity log, and delete

The active tab is highlighted with a blue underline so you always know where you are.

Organization Branding

SixGrid ships with the SixGrid logo in the sidebar by default. Organization Owners and Admins can replace it with their own logo to brand the experience for their team.

Go to Settings > General (click Settings in the sidebar). The Organization Branding section shows your current logo and provides controls to upload or remove it.

  • Click Upload Logo on the Settings > General page (Owner/Admin only)
  • Select an image file (PNG, JPG, SVG, or WebP, max 2MB)
  • The logo appears immediately in the sidebar for everyone in the organization
  • Recommended: a wide-format image (e.g. 400×80px) with a transparent background works best

When a custom logo is active

  • The custom logo replaces the SixGrid logo in the sidebar
  • A small "Powered by SixGrid" link appears at the bottom of the sidebar
  • On the Settings page, you can click Change Logo to replace it or Remove logo to revert to the default SixGrid branding
  • The default SixGrid logo is shown
  • "Get Projects Done" appears at the bottom of the sidebar as a link to sixgrid.com
Tip: Clicking the logo in the sidebar navigates to the Dashboard — it does not open a file picker. Logo management is always done from the Settings page.

This feature is especially useful for consulting firms and training providers who want their clients to see their own brand when using SixGrid.
