Data Export
Your data is yours. Download a complete copy of your organization's data anytime.
SixGrid lets Owners and Admins download everything the organization has in SixGrid as a single ZIP file. Use it for backups, offline analysis in Excel or another tool, or to take your data with you if you ever leave.
How to Export
- Go to Settings and find the Data & Export card.
- Click Download account data. Your browser downloads a ZIP file named with the export date.
- Large accounts can take a few minutes to prepare. Keep the tab open until the download starts.
Only Owners and Admins can export account data. The same download is also offered during the subscription cancellation flow, so you can keep a copy of your data before making changes to your plan.
What's in the Export
The ZIP contains one CSV file per data type, plus a README explaining the contents:
- Account and people: account details, people, and groups
- Projects: projects, charters, metrics, to-dos, milestones, benefits, costs, notes, and comments
- History: the activity log for every project
- Attachments: a list of every uploaded file with its name, size, type, and who uploaded it
Every project-related row includes the Project ID, so you can cross-reference between files (for example, matching a to-do to its project). CSV files open directly in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet tool.
The export includes your live data only. Items sitting in Trash are not included.
Including Uploaded Files
By default, the export lists your uploaded files but doesn't bundle the files themselves, which keeps the download small. To get the actual files too, check Include uploaded files (larger download) before clicking the export button.
- Files are placed in a files folder inside the ZIP, organized by project.
- The attachments CSV gains a Path In Export column pointing to each bundled file, so every listed attachment maps to its file.
- If a file can't be retrieved, the export still completes and notes the file in an errors file inside the ZIP instead of failing.
