Email Notifications

How SixGrid keeps your team informed about key project events.

SixGrid sends email notifications to keep your team informed about key project events. All five email types are on by default, and each one can be turned off individually on the Settings, Notifications page.

When Emails Are Sent

EventWho Gets NotifiedWhat the Email Says
Added to a projectThe person who was added"You've been added to [Project Name] as [Role]" with a link to the project
Assigned a to-doThe person the to-do was assigned to"[Person] assigned you a to-do: [To-do Title] on [Project Name]" with a link to the project
Comment on your to-doThe person the to-do is assigned to"[Person] commented on [To-do Title]" with a View Discussion link to the to-do's thread. Sent only if you've been away 30+ minutes and have this email enabled; otherwise you get the in-app notification only
Milestone due soonProject leaders, associate leaders, champions, creators, and organization owners/admins"[Milestone Name] on [Project Name] is due in X days" — sent once when a milestone is within 3 days of its due date
Idea activatedThe idea's submitter"Your idea is moving forward: [Project Name]" — sent when the idea is activated, naming the group it moved to and its Project Leader

Choosing Which Emails You Get

Go to Settings, Notifications to find a toggle for each of the five email types:

  • Milestone due-date reminders
  • To-do assigned to you
  • Comments on your to-do
  • Added to a project
  • Idea activated

All five are on by default. Turning one off stops the emails only — you'll still get the in-app notification, so nothing is missed. Emails are also suppressed when you've been active in the app within the last 30 minutes; if you're already in SixGrid, the in-app notification is enough.

How It Works

  • Emails are sent from noreply@sixgrid.com
  • You won't get an email for your own actions (e.g., if you assign a to-do to yourself)
  • Each notification is sent only once — you won't get duplicate emails for the same event
  • Milestone reminders are checked once daily and cover milestones due within the next 3 days
  • Sample project team members (the fictional characters in the sample project) never receive emails
